The Simple Things in Life

Up until last Sunday, the weather felt like an oppressive force in my life. I self-diagnosed myself with Seasonal Affective Disorder (which bears the acronym SAD — brilliant marketing by the light therapy industry) and moped around grumbling about Vitamin D deficiency from the lack of warming Spring sunlight that my starved-by-New England windburned skin madly craved.

Spirits quickly lifted during Sunday’s 10-mile trail run in pleasant sunshine. Joyful running, wearing shorts and a short-sleeved shirt, sliding occasionally on the soppy Spring dirt. I felt a keen sense of life.
