We journeyed 2 hours from Toulon to Monaco with a single purpose: Lunch at Le Louis XV, a joint birthday present to us from Mr. Pinault's parents. What a present! To dine in one of the most glamorous squares in Europe, to be pampered by a bevy of impeccable waiters who made my faux pas-es seem imagined, and to experience gastronomic perfection is something that can never be fully digested.
Warning: Do not look at these pictures on an empty stomach!

We sat on the patio in Monte-Carlo Square, facing hordes of tourists streaming into the Casino and snapping pictures, feeling like celebrities.

Pigeon Risotto. It's only fault was permanently rendering all other food inedible.

With over 2 dozen cheeses to chose from, I choose: Le morbier, Chevre, Le reblochon, and a sheep-milk cheese with fig jam.
